Robert Cavanah

Robert Cavanah

Welcome to Robert Cavanah's web pages. I hope you will find the site informative and entertaining. Robert is aware of the site and provides some of the content, but is not directly involved otherwise. Please send any correspondence for him care of his agency (provided below). Enjoy!

Soccer Mom (February 2008): Robert has confirmed that he has a role in the upcoming American feature film, Soccer Mom, a family comedy that is currently in production.

Los Angeles(January 2008): Robert has made the move to L.A. to try his luck in Hollywood! He is already developing a couple of projects.

The Royal (November 2007): Robert finished work on the third series of this TV drama.

Burns (update): All sources on the Internet point to 2008 or even 2009 for the start of filming of the biopic, which will star Gerry B. and Robert as the Burns brothers.

If you want to read an in-depth behind-the-scenes book about the trials and tribulations of trying to get a film made, read Richard E. Grant's entertaining second autobiography, "The Wah-Wah Diaries".

The Royal (June 2007): Robert has just confirmed that he will return to play Adam Carnegie for Series 3. Filming starts in June 2007.

Fiji Film (April 2007): Robert is working on a film on location in Fiji. There is no information about the project as of yet.

Los Angeles (April 2007): While in Los Angeles, Robert had time to go with Scottish pal Gerard Butler to a screening of one of Gerry's new films (he has two out this year and another one due out in 2008).

The Doctors (October/November 2006): Robert has directed at least 3 episodes of the English soap, which is being aired currently in the UK and Ireland.

The Royal (September 2006): The Royal starts again Sunday, September 17th on ITV. Check your local listings.

Rebus (September 2006): Robert is appearing on the TV series Rebus in the episode 'The Black Book' as DI Dalcastle on ITV, Friday at 9:00 pm for those of you lucky enough to get that UK TV station.

Saving Grace (short film) (July 2006): Bit of hot news from Nellie's Yahoo Group. Saving Grace, only 15 minutes long, was shown in 2005 as part of 'Homegrown Hollywood' on BBC Learning Zone (General Interest), which showcases short films. The same program is being shown again on BBC2 on July 19 to 21 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings) between 2am and 6am. The only problem is there's no indication of when exactly Saving Grace might be shown within the program! Bit early too, so tape it if you can catch it!

The series will be run again August 23, 24, and 25. Apparently, Saving Grace is in Programme 1, which should be on the 23rd.

The Royal (July 2006):Filming has begun for the next series of episodes and will take about 6 months to complete. Robert will be back for another season as Adam Carnegie.

The Royal (March 2006): The episodes introducing the new character of Adam Carnegie are airing on UTV and TV3 in Ireland (not sure about the UK) starting March 19, 2006. Check your local TV listings. Robert has been cast as Adam Carnegie in Series 5 of this Heartbeat spinoff TV series. Filming took place for 6 months in 2005.

The Bill (February 2006): Robert appears in a two-episode story arc airing on February 1 and 2 on ITV. (Sorry about the short notice.)

Burns (2006): Filming of the biopic "BURNS" has been pushed back to sometime in late 2006. It's never official until the cameras actually start to roll! Gerard Butler stars as the Bard himself with Robert cast as Robert Burns' brother, Gilbert. Also in the cast list are Julia Stiles, Brian Cox, John Hannah, James McAvoy, James Cosmo, David O'Hara, David Hayman. IMDB Plot Outline: "A look at the life and work of Robert Burns (Butler), with a focus on the relationship between the poet and his true love, Jean Armour (Stiles)."

Highlander: The Raven (Summer 2005): It has been announced that the Highlander: The Raven series starring Elizabeth Grace and Paul Johansson (with regular appearances by Robert in 5 episodes) will be available on DVD in mid-2005.

Casualty (June 9, 2005): Just saw Robert in "Casualty" on RTE1 (Ireland) yesterday. I think this episode first ran in 2004, and his character Mike Chalmers is treated after a car accident.

April 22, 2005: Robert is currently filming in the north of England for the TV series The Royal.

Sahara (April 8, 2005): World premiere of "Sahara" starring Matthew and Penelope. The film has already had a special screening in early March. You can expect to see Robert in the first sequence as Captain Toombs, filmed with a sepia look, which is the American civil war mystery that starts things off before the film jumps to the present day for the rest of the adventure.

Velvet Side of Hell (Early 2005): Don't have details yet but Robert has a small role in a thriller set in Hungary. UPDATE: Working title is "Velvet Side of Hell". Filming took place in February in Budapest, Hungary. Valentine Pelka is also in this production.

Judge John Deed (January 2005): Robert finally makes his appearance on Judge John Deed as Terry Rogers in the episode "Lost and Found". BBC1 begins airing season 5 on Thursday, January 13th, 2005. This series stars Martin Shaw, Jenny Seagrove, Caroline Langrishe, and Sir Donald Sinden. See the Scotsman review of the episode in TV Credits.
